Membership Update | Bowl-A-Thon!

FPA is Participatimg in Junior Achievement’s Annual Bowl-A-Thon (Bowlers Needed!)

Last year the FPA participated in Junior Achievement’s Annual Bowl-A-Thon and raised over $2,000 toward JA’s mission of empowering young people to succeed in a global economy.  This year, we’d like to “up the ante” and have TWO bowling teams for the FPA. This year the Bowl-A-Thon will be held on Friday, May 4th (5pm-7pm), Saturday, May 5th (2pm-4pm or 4:30pm-6:30pm) and Sunday, May 6th (10am-12pm) at Hollywood Bowl at 4030 NE Halsey Street. Our teams can select our session times once we have each team roster filled.

We need bowlers!  If you are interested in bowling on our team, please contact Jessi Howe at
jessi@silveroak.net or 503-242-1715.  We will need to have our rosters filled by April 6th, so please contact her right away. Not a bowler?  You can still help Junior Achievement by donating money to our bowling teams.  Our goal for this year is to raise $2,500, and we appreciate all of you who helped by giving last year.

If you have any questions about Junior Achievement, participation in the Bowl-A-Thon, or how to sign up as an in-class volunteer for Junior Achievement, please contact Jessi Howe.

See you at the lanes!

Message From Pro-Bono| Bradley Angle

Bradley Angle Volunteers Needed for 2012

Last year our chapter volunteered their time and expertise to the participants of Bradley Angle's Economic Empowerment Program. It was a great success, and we have another opportunity this year beginning in March to provide one-on-one support to a new group of participants.

Our FPA volunteers help this program by providing guidance over fairly basic financial matters.  This can range anywhere from setting up a budget to saving for college/retirement or rebuilding credit. These people are eager to take advantage of the opportunity to speak with a financial advisor--your help is tremendously appreciated.

DATE: May 30th, August 29th, and November 7th (5:30-6:30pm)

LOCATION:
Healing Roots Center
5432 N. Albina Ave (just south of Killingsworth)
